Laser resurfacing (ActiveFX, DeepFX, TotalFX) is a long-lasting, comprehensive Skin Rejuvenation Ohioapproach for treating wrinkles, dark spots, sun damage, scars, blotchiness, precancerous growths, acne, chicken pox scars, superficial facial scars, and other skin irregularities. A high energy laser is used that contacts the skin surface causing the outer layer to peel off and regenerate a layer of new, healthy skin. Over time, this process also stimulates the formation of new, underlying collagen to provide better elasticity and support for the skin. Soften the appearance of imperfections and reverse the signs of aging with safe, predictable results and minimal downtime.
What is the difference between ActiveFX, DeepFX and TotalFX?
- ActiveFX minimizes fine lines, wrinkles and discoloration of the skin.
- DeepFX minimizes deeper wrinkles and scars on the face, around the lips and eyes, on the upper chest, neck, hands and arms.
TotalFX combines Active and Deep treatments to provide overall skin rejuvenation.
How long does the procedure take?
Usually the procedure only lasts about 20 minutes. You are generally scheduled for a two hour appointment to allow time for medication and anesthetic application.
Does the procedure hurt?
While there is some discomfort associated with the procedure, you will be prescribed medication to ease this. Most patients report that they feel comfortable through the entire procedure.
What is the down time?
For the first week, patients are advised quiet activity and minimal sun exposure to allow their skin to have the best ability to heal. After this time, patients are able to apply makeup and return to their normal routine.
How long until I see results?
Results can be seen after just a single treatment and continued improvement will be seen for up to six months after the treatment.
Will I have to get this done again?
Although results vary, most patients who properly care for their skin following the procedure (including using sunscreen) see the benefits lasting for several years.
